Cocoa man killed after being struck by pickup truck on U.S. 1

A 42-year-old man was killed early Tuesday after a pickup truck struck him on U.S. 1 in Brevard County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of U.S. 1 and Olsen Avenue.Troopers said the Cocoa man was walking south in the inside southbound lane when a 2024 Ford F-150 struck him.The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.The pickup’s driver, a 59-year-old Cocoa man, was not injured and remained at the scene, according to FHP.The crash remains under investigation.Click here to download our free news, weather and smart TV apps.
